MACS Plasterboard Systems is pleased to announce that Aaron Cox has been shortlisted to be named Apprentice-of-the-Year 2016/17 by the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Aaron is a Quantity Surveying apprentice with MACS and is working full-time to earn his qualifications from Barking and Dagenham College.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is part of the London Legacy Development Corporation’s plans to drive the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to transform the lives of east Londoners.

The annual Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Awards competition is open to all contractors involved with the Park’s projects and transformation work that started immediately at the end of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

“Aaron has exceptional skills and abilities and was extremely useful to our site supervisor when assisting at the end of our difficult and busy Chobbham Manor project (located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park)”, says MACS Senior Quantity Surveyor Chris Thomas.

“As his immediate supervisor, I have seen first-hand how quickly Aaron has progressed from being a novice student to becoming a valued member of the MACS team. He is fully deserving of being named Apprentice-of-the-Year for the Queen Elizabeth Awards and we all wish him good luck.

The winner will be announced on 5th July at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Apprenticeship Awards event.
