News & Events > MACS Apprentice Wins Top Honours

MACS Plasterboards is delighted that one of its Barnfield College apprentices has been named that school’s Apprentice-of-the-Year for 2017.

Sarjan (Kevin) Raveendrakuma won the award for the Dry Lining competition, but had to overcome a difficult start to his training before being named top student.

“Kevin was our dry lining apprentice of the year,” says Andy Pearce
NVQ Assessor (construction) Barnfield Apprenticeship Services. “Kevin is a first-year student and when his training is completed, he will have achieved a level 2 diploma and NVQ in Dry Lining.

“I nominated him as I thought he had shown very good progression having not had the best start to his apprenticeship. He has a great personality which brightens up the workshop as well as the other students. I’m sure he will go on to complete his apprenticeship and ultimately a good fixer.”

“Well done to Kevin and to the staff at Barnfield College for working hard to turn out high-quality apprentices,” says MACS chief executive Tom McLoughlin.
