News & Events > MACS to Judge College Competition

MACS Plasterboard Systems Limited have agreed to judge a Plastering & Dry Lining skills competition on 9th March at Barking & Dagenham College (BDC) in London.

The competition, part of the BDC 2017 Inspiration Day proceedings, will feature vocational students at the college who are studying for Plastering and Dry Lining qualifications.

The students, working in teams of three people each, will be tasked to build a 2sqM cupboard, using plasterboard, track and stud.

“We enjoy coming to BDC and judging this annual competition”, says MACS Chief Executive Tom McLoughlin. “We have a number of BDC students who come onto our sites as apprentices, so it’s good to see up close the types of skills they are learning in the classroom environment”

“We will be judging the teams on how they perform with various components including overall quality, speed, efficiency and teamwork.”

“MACS Plasterboards have been the outstanding supporter of the five Inspiration Day events I’ve delivered at BDC, and they are the only sponsor to hold this honor, says Bob Noseda of Barking and Dagenham College. “The MACS enthusiasm and passion is there for all to see. I hope I can continue to work alongside the amazing Company”
